But the concentration of power led to the emergence of two dominant intergalactic corporate factions, constantly competing for more power and valuable resources. The war that broke out between them led to an extensive techno-biological disaster, with devastating consequences. What was finally left behind, was an inhospitable dangerous universe, in which only scavengers, bloodthirsty creatures and men of mayhem live.
